Aleksander Eeri Laupmaa Stand-up Show: Famous and Poor

“I was grinning like that, I was afraid my tits would explode.” — Sonya’s mother

“About Aleksander Eeri Laupmaa’s solo show ‘Famous and Poor’, one would certainly like to say that if money could be measured in jokes told, Laupmaa would undoubtedly be very rich. And if he got a euro for every successful joke he manages to deliver during his show, he would undoubtedly be even richer. Perhaps even so rich that he would no longer have to tell jokes—which would obviously be a great loss.” — Tuuli Põhajakas, Postimees

Aleksander Eeri Laupmaa has performed stand-up comedy in America, Australia, the United Kingdom and more than 32% of Europe. He is considered Estonia’s best stand-up comedian (if you leave aside the stand-up comedians who are better than him), and, as in previous years, his new hour is funnier than the last one.

There are a thousand kinds of fame and a thousand kinds of poverty. In Estonia, everyone is either famous, poor, or famous and poor. No fame is enough, and no poverty is final. We laugh at people, society and the Estonian language.

Recommended for ages 16+, though you older folks aren’t all that much wiser either.
