Observatory Tour (in Russian) — 5 Nov, 19:30

1. See what the observatory looks like inside. It was converted from a water tower over a period of more than three years, and you’ll hear its unusual story.
2. We’ll show you our telescopes and explain how the observatory’s equipment works.
3. You’ll get to touch the Sikhote-Alin meteorite with your own hands. This messenger from space travelled billions of kilometres before reaching Earth and ending up at our observatory.

If the sky is clear: We’ll observe the universe through a telescope. Depending on the season and time of day, this may include the planets of the Solar System, the Moon, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, and even our Sun through a special solar telescope.

If it’s cloudy on the day of the tour: Yes, that can happen in our country. But we’ll still have plenty of interesting things to show you! The tour will go ahead as planned. Instead of observing the sky, we’ll turn our attention to the microworld. A powerful laboratory microscope will show you things that can’t be seen with the naked eye.

P.S. Please bring a change of shoes and warm clothing!
