AI doesn’t have to be limited to answering questions. AI agents can carry out several steps in sequence: search for information, compare offers, organise files and prepare documents. You give the task; the agent does the work. But how do you decide what to share with it, which answers to trust, and when a person needs to approve an action before the AI takes it?
In this practical workshop, you’ll learn to recognise the risks of using AI and make informed choices that protect your data and your organisation’s data. No prior knowledge of cybersecurity is required.
Together, we’ll look at:
- which data is public, internal or sensitive, and what should be shared with AI at all;
- how to minimise the amount of data you share and make a safer copy of a work file;
- which account, data-retention and connected-app settings are worth reviewing;
- how to check important facts in an AI response and spot misleading content;
- how to limit AI access and permissions, and when a person needs to approve a decision.
We’ll work through examples from everyday work. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a short checklist to assess your next AI use case: what data is involved, what access is needed, what could go wrong, and where human approval is required.
**Who is it for?** Anyone who uses AI for work or wants to get started and use it more safely.
**When and where?** 18 November 2026, 17:00–20:00, Viimsi Raamatukogu, Randvere tee 9, Haabneeme, Harju County.
**What to bring?** Be sure to bring your laptop and charger. We’ll use public or fictional sample data in the exercises; there’s no need to bring real client or employee data.
**Trainer – Krister Viirsaar**
Krister Viirsaar is an experienced software developer and trainer with over 10 years of experience in IT and teaching programming. His training focuses on practical skills, understanding how technology works, and using AI thoughtfully and responsibly.
Participation is free. The workshop is part of Arunädal and the Eesti.ai initiative “Kõige AI-targem rahvas”.
