At this workshop, we will explore the living heritage of people connected to the Kalamaja district and how it can strengthen the community. The workshop will take place at Kalamaja Museum on 14 November 2026, from 11:00 to 15:30.
The aim is to encourage participants to recognise and preserve their living heritage, and to start discussions and initiatives in their communities about living heritage, its preservation and supporting the community. The intangible heritage in and around our lives is rich. Together, we will explore what the living heritage of each of us and our community is, how to preserve and highlight it, and how it supports the sustainability of our home district. We will also hear the story and experiences of a heritage bearer as an example of preserving living heritage, and learn about the options for submitting an entry to the Estonian Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
**Who should attend**
People connected to the Kalamaja district or interested in its well-being; leaders and members of the Kalamaja community, associations, non-profit organisations and businesses; staff of Kalamaja institutions; and anyone interested in culture and heritage.
