Jānis Skutelis / Show “Ha!”

I first felt like putting together a stand-up show two years ago. But there’s a lot of work at the theatre. Doubts creep in: why do I need this? I don’t do this anymore, and so on. Besides, I’m at the theatre all the time, and I don’t have much to say about what’s happening outside it. What would I talk about in a stand-up show? The answer came to me soon enough. One evening, rereading one of Shakespeare’s plays, as actors usually do, suddenly: *Richard III*—“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.” Ha! I have something to say! *Quote from Shakespeare’s play *As You Like It*. Ha! See you all over Latvia!
