“It’s so beautiful to get up, go out and do something. We’re here on this earth to kill time. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise,” Kurt Vonnegut once said. So be it. We won’t.
We’ve reached the point where we’ll get together on seven evenings this summer. We’ll take the cover off the engine and have a look inside. Unless, of course, something really terrible happens first. We don’t know what will happen. But we have to hope there’s still something good to come. Even when the odds are against us. And the odds are always against us. But that’s all the more reason to believe and hope. There’s still some chance. That the little one beats the big one. That the strait is opened. That everything gets cheaper. That jokes are funny. That friends get together. That enemies forget. That Estonia wins the FIFA World Cup. We have to believe. A goal has even been scored by hand. And if it doesn’t turn out that way, if we end up where we may have been from the very beginning, then we’ll simply be … … together. And killing time.

The production draws inspiration from Richard Janno’s book “Vutimehed” (1935), sports history, and the lives of the cast members involved in the production.
