Dining Chair Seat Upholstery Workshop

Gallery Night special: Give a chair a new life at Be New Again studio! On the evening of 13 November, the soon-to-open reuse and design studio Be New Again at Aparaaditehas will open its doors. As part of the Gallery Night festivities, join us for a practical, creative workshop where we’ll replace the seat cover of a dining chair together.

Do you have a much-loved dining chair at home with a tired, worn seat? Don’t let it gather dust in a corner—bring it along and we’ll give it a completely new look in a couple of hours! If you don’t have a chair of your own, we’ll find one for you to practise on.

The participation fee includes all materials and tools. Fabric will also be available to buy and take home.

What will we do in the workshop? Step by step, we’ll learn how to remove a dining chair’s upholstered seat, reupholster it and fit new fabric correctly. We’ll discuss simple techniques, the tools and materials you’ll need, so you can confidently tackle your other chairs at home if you wish. All necessary upholstery materials and tools, along with a selection of upholstery fabrics, will be available on site.

Session times:
