SIMMSALABIM

We invite you to a special evening bringing together cinema, live music and the future of young filmmakers. The artists and musicians featured in the programme show that great and inspiring journeys can begin in Estonia. Our goal is to support young people as they pursue their dreams, so that what they experience and learn around the world can one day enrich our film culture too. Proceeds from the event will go to SIMMSALABIM, a further education fund for young filmmakers. We believe young people should notice and support one another, and dare to take the initiative to bring about change. The fund’s patron is Eesti Kinoliit.

🎬 FILM SCREENING
For the first time, the work of Estonian filmmakers created during their studies abroad will be shown publicly on the big screen. This highly exclusive and diverse programme brings together works that have received international recognition. It shows that the work of young Estonian filmmakers resonates with audiences beyond their home country too.

Tanel Toom – “Banana Chocolate” (2009)
Matis Rei – “Fulfilament” (2015)
Markus Andreas – “Stories of You and I” (2021)
Alesja Suzdaltseva – “Talk To Them” (2026)

🎶 CONCERT
The evening continues with poetry and the rhythms of Spanish music, as internationally rising film actor Pääru Oja takes the stage with Tõnu Oja and Indrek Kruusimaa. Later, experimental music genius and BFM film arts alumnus MeisterJaan will turn up the energy with a creative style that defies conventional boundaries.
