Sweet Death

In a new film from the producers of “Sundmõte,” police are called to a quiet coastal house, where they find two victims with brutally mutilated bodies. In the backyard lies a third body, naked and pale, already badly decomposed. The man has no visible injuries or identification, and there is no explanation for his presence there. How did a man who has clearly been dead for weeks end up at the center of a recent, violent crime? It turns out the unidentified body belongs to the father of forensic anthropologist Meg Garland, who disappeared when Meg was still a child. At first, she refuses to cooperate, but scientific curiosity and fragmented memories of her father’s fear on the night he vanished eventually draw her into the investigation. Meg must soon face the terrifying possibility that her father was not who she thought he was—and that something he feared most may still be lurking nearby. Meg is played by Deborah Ann Woll, known from the “Escape Room” film series and the shows “Daredevil,” “The Punisher” and “True Blood.” Supporting roles feature Jeffrey Donovan (“Law and Order,” “Burn Notice,” “Sicario”), Will Hochman (“Blue Blood”), Jack Doolan (“The Boys,” “Sisu”) and Don Keith Opper (“Critters 1-4”).
