New Year Wreath-Making Workshop

There’s a special pleasure in looking at something beautiful in your home and thinking, “I made this myself!” And then admiring it every time you walk past. Join us to create a beautiful wreath for your home, using fragrant evergreen branches, twigs and decorations of your choice. You can hang it on a door, put it on a wall or make it the centrepiece of your holiday table. A florist will help with the arrangement, colour combinations and all those “how do I attach this?” questions. Even if the last time you made something was in a craft class at school, you’ll manage just fine.

And since we’re getting together to make something for the New Year, why not take a moment to dream, too? We’ll explore metaphorical cards and listen to our wishes. A short practice will help you choose what you want to take into the coming year, what to leave behind and what you’d like to make more room for in your life. Then we’ll weave those wishes into our wreaths, each in our own way.

You’ll take home a finished wreath you made yourself: a decoration for your home and a reminder of what you want for yourself.

What to expect:

We’ll talk about what you’d like to leave behind and what you want to keep and nurture.

Metaphorical cards. We’ll look for clues in the images about what you want and what you’d like to make more room for in the coming year.

Wreath-making. We’ll choose and combine materials, breathe in their fragrances and enjoy working with our hands. With the florist’s help, everyone will create a beautiful decoration for their home, weaving in personal wishes for the New Year.

We’ll drink warming tea, chat and create. If you’re wondering how to treat someone close to you, bring a friend, sister or mother. In our busy lives, time for yourself is the rarest and most precious gift.
