WEBINAR – A benchmark for language models: what is it for and who is it for?

There are many language models, and choosing the right one can be difficult, especially when it is important that a model is good at Estonian and understands Estonia’s cultural context. The Estonian Language Institute’s language model benchmark is an independent ranking that helps compare models and make informed choices. In addition to Estonian language skills, the benchmark lets you compare models based on their factual knowledge and the safety of their answers. In the webinar, we will show what the benchmark is for, how to use it, and how to interpret its results. We will also explain what conclusions can be drawn from the results and what the limitations of the assessment are. The webinar is for anyone interested and requires no technical prior knowledge. The webinar will be led by Eleri Aedmaa, Senior Language Technologist at the Estonian Language Institute. The workshop is part of Arunädal and the Eesti.ai initiative “The most AI-savvy nation.”
