How can artificial intelligence support nurses’ daily work, reduce administrative workload and simplify the preparation of nursing documentation? What are the possibilities and limitations of using AI? What patient-safety and data-protection risks should be considered when using AI-based documentation programs in healthcare?
In this practical workshop, we will focus on preparing nursing documentation and assess whether and how AI can support nurses’ work. The workshop begins with a brief introduction and a sample simulation. Participants will then work in pairs to try the digital assistant DocAid using fictional nursing cases. Together, we will assess the quality and reliability of AI-generated documentation and discuss data protection, patient safety and nurses’ professional responsibility.
Who is it for? The workshop is primarily intended for nursing students, lecturers and practising nurses. Its aim is to give participants practical experience using AI in nursing and develop their ability to critically assess AI-generated content and its suitability for clinical work.
Please bring your own laptop so you can take part in the practical exercises.
Liina Jõesaar, a nursing student at Tallinna Tervishoiu Kõrgkool, and Eneli Poom, a master’s student in health sciences, will lead the practical workshop, where participants will try preparing nursing documentation with the AI-based documentation application DocAid. The workshop is part of Arunädal and Eesti.ai’s “Kõige AI-targem rahvas” initiative.
