The exhibition “White Gold. The Story of Estonian Porcelain,” which explores the history of Estonia’s porcelain industry, is open at the Maarjamäe Castle of the History Museum from 30 October 2026. The exhibition is accompanied by a lecture series in which experts on the subject discuss the story of Estonian porcelain from different perspectives.
At the lecture on Saturday, 13 February 2027, design historian Kai Lobjakas will speak about Kunstitoodete Kombinaat (KFK & ARS), which held a unique position in the Soviet-era light industry and art scene. The talk will cover how this organisation—which balanced art and industry in a conceptual in-between space and included a porcelain painting studio—operated and what guided its activities.
The lecture takes place in the fireplace hall at Maarjamäe Castle, starting at 13:00. A lecture ticket also allows independent entry to the exhibition at Maarjamäe Castle.
