Carl Christian Fick’s Faience Ware — Kristiina Hiiesalu Lecture

The exhibition “White Gold: The Story of Estonian Porcelain” has been open at the History Museum’s Maarjamäe Castle since 30 October 2026, presenting the history of the porcelain industry in Estonia. The exhibition is accompanied by a lecture series in which experts discuss the story of Estonian porcelain from different perspectives.

On Saturday, 16 January 2027, Kristiina Hiiesalu, senior collections curator at Tallinn City Museum, will give a lecture about the faience ware of Carl Christian Fick’s manufactory. The lecture will cover objects made by the manufactory, their different types and forms, and examples held in other museums and collections outside Estonia.

The lecture will take place in the fireplace room at Maarjamäe Castle, starting at 13:00. The lecture ticket also gives visitors the opportunity to explore the exhibition at Maarjamäe Castle independently.
