Maarja Swiped on Tinder*

Kristina Paškevicius / Andra Teede’s thriller *Maarja Swiped on Tinder* is based on the experiences of 59 real people in Estonia on the Tinder dating platform, collected by the author in autumn 2025. Nevertheless, all events and characters are fictional.

Thirty-nine-year-old Maarja abruptly ends a long-distance relationship and plunges headfirst into Tallinn’s dating scene. Driven by revenge, loneliness and curiosity, she races through a series of dates with all kinds of potential partners—from cowboys to bankers, journalists to builders, and all their friends—until an innocent adventure unexpectedly turns criminal.

Starring Kaisa Selde, Meelis Kubo, Ragnar Uustal and Liis Haab (voice).

Playwright: Andra Teede
Concept and director: Kristina Paškevicius
Designer: Gerly Tinn

The production is part of Kristina Paškevicius’s creative research for her master’s studies in the choreography programme at TLÜ BFM. Her supervisor is dance researcher and critic PhD Heili Einasto. Among other things, the director explores nonverbal communication and the intersection of dance and sexuality in the actors’ work.

Premiere: 10 May 2026 at Kellerteater, Tallinn Gunpowder Cellar.

PLEASE NOTE! Not recommended for audiences under 14. Some scenes may be disturbing. Loud sound and harmless theatrical smoke may be used during the performance.
