For Curiosity Day, we open the doors to the house where, in accordance with Friedebert Tuglas’s (1886–1971) final wishes, a research institute and a museum operate today. We invite visitors on a journey that looks at Tuglas from three perspectives.
1. CLOSE TO THE BODY: We bring out Tuglas’s pyjamas from the collections and show the objects that accompanied him in everyday life.
2. CLOSE TO THE HEART: We talk about the muses who mattered to Tuglas—and who his muses were—and uncover love stories hidden in the corners of his heart.
3. CLOSE TO THE MIND: We explore which of his works was the most popular and what sources inspired him. We will also learn what he did during the years of internal exile in the Nõmme period.
Curiosity Day is an initiative of President of the Republic Alar Karis. Its aim is to value curiosity as the foundation of lifelong learning and to support activities that inspire people of all ages to broaden their horizons and acquire new knowledge and skills. In collaboration with the Estonian Museums Association, we invite you to learn how different museums carry out their collection work and preserve cultural heritage.
