Robert Jürjendal – semi-acoustic guitar, electronics
Mart Soo – electric guitar, electronics
Tõnis Leemets – electric guitar, electronics
“Weekend Guitar Trio is a real mystery... The trio plays its own complex, ambient music, which it has impressively deepened and expanded over the years, and which was convincingly confirmed at their concert. Now a familiar name in Europe, Weekend Guitar Trio prefers to perform at music festivals, where they can focus 100% on music.” — Henning Bolte, London Jazz
Weekend Guitar Trio’s work is characterised by composed and improvised music for three electric guitars and electronics. The trio has been influenced by jazz, electronic music and world music. WGT’s music has been featured on the popular BBC 3 music programme and on many other European radio stations. WGT has performed with leading Estonian DJs and the British DJ duo Spring Heel Jack; various percussionists (Brian Melvin, John Wieczorek), folk musicians (Celia Roose, Tuule Kann) and singers (Kadri Hunt, Priit Lehto). At different times, WGT’s collaborators have included Markus Reuter (Austria), Vox Clamantis, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Mixed Choir Noorus, and composers Anti Marguste, Jaan Rääts, Mirjam Tally and Tõnu Kõrvits.
Tickets: 10 in advance, 15 at the door. The concert is presented in cooperation with the concert agency Uus Kontsert. Supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s Endowment for Music and Rõuge Municipality.
