Christmas Gin-Making Masterclass at ŌBDO Distillery

Together, we’ll create a unique Christmas gin flavour at our Latvian craft gin distillery, ŌBDO, at Miera Street 29 in Riga! Two brothers with Riga in their hearts have set out on an exciting craft gin adventure, introducing the world to Latvia’s natural riches and creating a distinctive Latvian gin flavour.

Discover the world of craft gin by creating your own unique gin recipe. Together, we’ll learn about gin ingredients and production processes, and explore the flavours and aromas that make up gin. As you listen to fascinating stories about gin’s history, production and current trends, you’ll learn the art of distillation at one of our copper stills. After the event, you’ll be able to take home a bottle of the gin you created.

During the evening, you’ll also hear ŌBDO’s story, learn about its gin production processes, and taste ŌBDO gin and gin cocktails.

The experience includes:
- A 3-hour masterclass, tasting and presentation led by our Master Distiller
- One ŌBDO gin cocktail tasting (150 ml) on arrival
- An informative talk about gin’s history, production process and ingredients
- An introduction to our sustainability initiatives and products
- Creating a gin recipe, distilling it and finishing it in a 200 ml bottle
- A tour of the ŌBDO gin distillery, an introduction to its production processes, and the story of how the distillery was established
- Tastings of ŌBDO SŌUL gin (20 ml), ŌBDO ADŌRE gin (20 ml) and ŌBDO NEGRŌNI (20 ml)
- A tasting of ŌBDO x Rocket Bean, Latvia’s first gin coffee liqueur (20 ml)
- One ŌBDO gin and tonic or ŌBDO Negroni cocktail
- A tasting of genuine bean-to-bar ŌBDO DZIIVA chocolate, made in Latvia using ingredients used in gin production
- Light festive snacks and a festive atmosphere

Gin-making takes place in groups of 4–6 people around one still. Maximum group size: 12 people. Duration: up to 3 hours. This experience is available to people aged 18 and over.
