Mārtiņdienas Celebration at Daugavas Museum

On 8 November at 12:00, Mārtiņdienas celebrations will take place at Daugavas Museum, at the Mellupi fishermen’s farmstead. When the autumn work is done and Mārtiņdiena arrives, it is time to open the gates to winter with lively songs, fun and the joy of dressing up! Join in Mārtiņdienas dancing, games and traditions with the Tomes folk group “Graudi”. Dress up! Bring a homemade or ready-made mask. Experience the traditions! We’ll sing, dance and play lively games. Enjoy autumn outdoors! Feel the festive spirit and the cosy atmosphere of the fishermen’s farmstead right on the banks of the Daugava. We’ll warm up with hot tea and delicious honey bread! To make the celebration enjoyable, please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather. Admission is according to the museum’s price list: €1 for children, €2 for adults (free with an annual pass). Come and welcome the arrival of winter with us!
