New Beginnings, New Patterns — Children’s Mental Health Conference

On 20 November 2026, the fifth children’s mental health conference, “New Beginnings, New Patterns,” will take place at Valga Kultuurikeskus.

Have you ever wondered how childhood experiences affect us as adults? Why do some patterns repeat, and how can we find the courage to change them? Every family, every child and every life story is different. New people, new relationships and new beginnings come into our lives. But how can we stay true to ourselves and care for those dearest to us amid change?

On 20 November, we invite you to reflect, listen and find inspiration. Sharing their knowledge, thoughts and personal experiences will be:

• Henessi Schmidt — childhood experiences, self-worth and new beginnings
• Taavi Jakobson — blended families, family relationships and changing patterns
• Keili Sükijainen — overcoming challenges, life changes and personal experiences
• Eleri Viinalass — young people’s mental health, relationships and new beginnings
• Chris Põhjamets and Merily Tensing-Kruusla — Perepesad and ways to support families

The day will be moderated by Mirjam Mõttus.

We will talk about childhood experiences, self-worth, family relationships, blended families, a sense of security, overcoming challenges and new beginnings. This day is for you if you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, youth worker, specialist or simply someone who cares about the wellbeing of children and young people. Come and take away a new idea, practical knowledge or a moment of recognition that may change your perspective!

A charity raffle and cake sale will also be held during the day to support our charitable initiatives.
