bet bet Anniversary Concert

Following the successful and well-attended concerts this summer celebrating the band “bet bet”’s 35th anniversary, built around songs by this year’s major jubilarian, Maestro Raimonds Pauls, the band’s concert tour continues from 10 October at Latvia’s largest concert halls: on 14 November at 19:00 at Valmieras Kultūras centrs. These concerts will feature beloved songs including “Nepārmet man”, “Mazs cinītis”, “Mežrozīte”, “Mēmā dziesma”, “Dziesmiņa par dzīvošanu”, “Kamēr svecītes deg” and “Vasara nebeigsies nekad”, among others; pieces from Raimonds Pauls and Jānis Peters’ song cycle “Pērļu zvejnieks”; and the legendary songs “Laternu stundā” and “Viss nāk un aiziet tālumā”, newly learned especially for this tour. The programme also includes several songs with lyrics by band member Guntars Račs.

“Raimonds Pauls’ music has always held a special place in our repertoire. Over these 35 years, we have made four albums featuring his compositions: “Nepārmet man”, “Leģenda par Zaļo Jumpravu”, “Pērļu zvejnieks” and “Vasara nebeigsies nekad”. Our version of “Mēmā dziesma” has also been one of the most-played songs on Latvian radio stations for many years; last year it became the most-played song on Latvijas Radio 2, and it is regularly heard on other stations too,” say the musicians, adding that the autumn concerts promise to be melodic, energetic and emotional—a meeting with time-tested classics of Latvian popular music.
