UFO’s 60 Shades — Anniversary Show

On Thursday, 3 December, master of comedy and radio personality Kaspars Upacieris, known as Ufo, invites you to his special 60th-birthday show, “UFO 60 NOKRĀSAS” (“UFO 60 Shades”). A positive evening full of laughter will become an exciting journey from the 1980s to the present day, through memories, mishaps, turning points in life and events in which many audience members will recognise themselves.

“UFO 60 NOKRĀSAS” is more than an anniversary show. It is a story about a generation that has lived through changing times, about the recklessness of youth, life’s highs and lows, the people we meet and the situations we learn to remember with a smile.

“I’ve come to realise that everything in life changes. Times, fashion, technology and we ourselves change. But one thing stays the same: laughter always helps us take life a little less seriously. If you can no longer laugh at yourself, that’s when the real problems begin. As long as we can still laugh together, everything is all right,” says Ufo.

Ufo’s humour has always been distinctive. It balances irony, self-deprecation and dark humour, making it possible to laugh not only at what is happening around us, but also at ourselves. This will be a show with character, energy and a human touch.

The audience can expect humorous stories in the style of various “radio programmes”, ranging from dark-humour lists and absurd situations in life to memories of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s; working in radio; raising chickens; carpentry; home production; money matters; and other unexpected topics. The evening will also feature staged sketches, improvisation, poetry readings, quizzes and, of course, musical performances, making each show a little different.

“UFO 60 NOKRĀSAS” will be an evening that not only entertains, but also reminds us how important it is to keep our sense of humour in all circumstances. It is a chance to forget everyday worries for two hours and enjoy laughter, memories and positive emotions.
