The next event in the Design Meets Science series by TalTech and Tallinn Business Incubators, “A New Era for the Maritime Industry,” will take place on 11 November 2026, from 10:00 to approximately 14:00, at TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy (Kopli 101, Tallinn). This time, we will focus on the future of the maritime industry and collaboration between science, technology and design in shipbuilding. Organised in collaboration with the Estonian Maritime Cluster and TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy, the event brings together researchers and entrepreneurs to present maritime developments, innovative solutions and Estonia’s shipbuilding experience. During the day, attendees can hear presentations on maritime research projects, shipbuilding and conversions, and visit the simulators and the mechanical engineering building at TalTech Maritime Academy. Speakers include Jaak Viilipus (Estonian Maritime Cluster), Valentin Bratkov (TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy), Alex Vainokivi (SRC Grupp), Ottomar Tamm (Standard), Karmo Lomp (Plaatdetail), Sergey Kravtchenko (BLRT Tallinn Shipyard) and Ahto Pärli (Baltic Workboats). The day concludes with tours of the TalTech Maritime Academy simulators and the mechanical engineering building named after Admiral Johan Pitka. There will be a refreshment break, offering participants a chance to connect and meet one another. Who is it for? Entrepreneurs, researchers, students, public-sector representatives and anyone else interested in developments in the maritime industry and shipbuilding are welcome. Participation is free; advance registration is required to secure a place. More information and the registration link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1017644318013388
