Please note: The performance of “The Collector” takes place in the small hall of Südalinna Teater. Frederick Clegg lives alone, works at an employment centre and collects butterflies. He is infatuated with Miranda, an art college student whom he secretly watches, not daring to speak to her. Unexpectedly, Clegg wins a large sum of money in the lottery. He buys a secluded house outside the city, kidnaps Miranda and keeps her in the basement, hoping that one day she will fall in love with him.

“The Collector” is a chamber drama that explores the fragile boundary between care and concealed forms of control and power. At its heart is a tense clash between freedom and dependence, in which violence is disguised as care, attention and apparent love.
