Please note: The production of “The Collector” takes place in the small hall of Südalinna Teater. Frederick Clegg lives alone, works at an employment centre and collects butterflies. He is infatuated with Miranda, an art college student whom he secretly watches, but does not dare speak to. Unexpectedly, Clegg wins a large sum of money in the lottery. He buys an isolated house outside the city, kidnaps Miranda and keeps her in the basement, hoping that one day she will come to love him.

“The Collector” is a chamber drama that explores the delicate boundary between care and hidden forms of control and power. At its heart is the tense conflict between freedom and dependence, in which violence is disguised as care, attention and apparent love.
