The Wizard of the Land of Dreams — Ice Show

On 25 December at 17:00, Daugavpils Ice Hall will host “The Wizard of the Land of Dreams”, a spectacular ice show for the whole family, featuring award-winning figure skaters from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The production is created by the creative team behind the ice show “Thumbelina”, whose previous work was presented to great acclaim at “Xiaomi Arena” and in other European cities.

Inspired by Alexander Volkov’s popular work “The Wizard of the Emerald City”, this warm and uplifting story will be seen in a new light. Dorothy and her loyal dog Toto, the charming Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, mysterious fairies and, of course, the enigmatic Wizard will come to life on the ice. Alongside these characters, audiences will embark on a fantastic journey through the Land of Dreams—a place where dreams come true.

“The Wizard of the Land of Dreams” is a musical theatre production on ice, created with the involvement of a large Latvian creative team: choreographers, set designers, costume designers, composers, and lighting and special-effects specialists. Every detail—from the scenery to the musical accompaniment—will create a magical atmosphere for children and adults alike.

The show features 24 world-class figure skaters, including participants in World and European Championships and winners and medallists at international competitions. They will be joined by acrobats, aerialists and other performers from Latvia and the other Baltic states. Audiences can expect technically demanding and emotionally charged performances: impressive lifts, spins, jumps, spectacular death spirals, and graceful, synchronised skating duets. The action will extend beyond the ice, with breathtaking aerial acrobatics above it adding to the story’s magical atmosphere.

“The Wizard of the Land of Dreams” is a show for audiences of all ages and an opportunity to enjoy something special with the family at Christmas. Music, figure skating and the magic of a fairy tale come together for a festive event in Daugavpils.

Tickets are available at “Biļešu serviss” outlets and online. Children up to 3 years old enter free of charge if they do not occupy a separate seat.
