Children’s Musical: “Chipollino’s New Year Adventures”

On 20 December at 15:00, the musical “Chipollino’s New Year Adventures” will take place at Daugavpils Kultūras pils. “Chipollino’s New Year Adventures” is an exciting musical about a brave little boy, Cipollino, who joins his friends to restore justice in a fairy-tale kingdom of fruits and vegetables. The story is based on Gianni Rodari’s “The Adventures of Cipollino”, familiar to generations since childhood, and comes to life on stage in a new version: a remarkable, colourful show for the whole family, performed by the Latvian cultural and entertainment association “Kolizejs”. Cipollino and his friends will face many challenges and discover the amazing truth that neither power nor money can replace the richness of the soul, and happiness cannot be forbidden. This heartwarming and instructive story will captivate children and adults alike with original songs, vivid costumes, interactive games with the audience and New Year’s magic. No New Year’s Eve would be complete without Santa Claus, who will hurry to help the fairy-tale characters if they call for him. The musical accompaniment will be performed by the outstanding Latvian actor, songwriter and musician Gidons Grinbergs, who will play Professor Pear and demonstrate captivating technique and deeply emotional playing on the violin. The show features well-known actors familiar to children and adult audiences alike: Sergejs Dobrotvorskis, Antons Patlins, Andrejs Mošāns, Darja Kravcova and others. Director: Andrejs Sediševs. Sound operator: Dmitrijs Sediševs. The show teaches optimism, courage, joyfulness and helping one another, and shows that true friendship can overcome anything.
