At the end of the year, we’ll gather in the intimate atmosphere of the Chamber Hall to enjoy music from the German and Austrian Romantic periods—music that reconciles us to winter’s severity and suits the promise of Advent. These are dreams that lead to lands of fantasy, barely perceptible words of love, tenderness as sweet as the sweetest marshmallow, and beauty as vivid as the richest nectar.

The talented Latvian violinist Daniils Bulajevs, joined by kindred spirits—the Hungarian cellist Dora Kokaša and the Estonian pianist Irina Zaharenkova—has chosen four composers for this concert programme. They share similar artistic ideals, and three of them are also linked by love and friendship.

Franz Schubert was born at the end of the 18th century, making him slightly older than the others. In the penultimate year of his 31-year life, he composed two monumental piano trios which, in their depth of thought and indescribable beauty, already touch other spheres.

Performers:
Daniils BULAJEVS – violin
Dora KOKAŠA | Dora KOKAS – cello
Irina ZAHARENKOVA | Irina ZAHHARENKOVA – piano

Programme:
PART I
Franz SCHUBERT
Piano Trio No. 1

As is customary for “Lielais dzintars”’s “Personīgi” concert series, after the concert visitors will have the opportunity to meet the musicians informally in the second-floor gallery and talk about their creative journeys, sources of inspiration and challenges.
