On 2 December at 19:00, join us for an evening with one of the most prominent figures in Liepāja rock, Ivo Fomins. Together with “Liepāja2027” ambassador and Radio SWH host Jānis Šipkēvics senior, Ivo Fomins will look back on more than four decades in Latvian music, sharing stories about his creative journey, life, and songs that have become part of the musical experience of several generations. Ivo Fomins’ creative journey began in the 1980s, and over the years he has performed with groups including “Saldās sejas”, “Neptūns”, “Libau”, “Melnā Princese”, “Liepājas brāļi” and the duo “Fomins & Kleins”. Since 2006, he has been active as a solo artist, continuing to develop his musical style and the sound characteristic of Liepāja rock. At the heart of the conversation will be the unseen side of how songs are created: first impulses, personal experiences, and unexpected turns in life that find their way into music. The conversation will also feature musical performances. This time, Ivo Fomins will be joined on stage by his musical companion, guitarist and fellow Liepāja resident Roberts Dinters.
