A Christmas Tale | 2+

Age: 2+ | Duration: 40 min

Director Ģ. Šolis created the play based on motifs from Margarita Stāraste’s fairy tale “Why the Snow Sparkles.” “A Christmas Tale” takes us to a village of gnomes in Zvārguļu ravine, where three gnomes—Zilcepuris, Zaļcepuris and Brūncepuris—are preparing for Christmas. But their dissatisfaction with the snow and frost angers Father Frost and Mother Snow, who leave, abandoning the village to a wet thaw. The festive mood is ruined. Realising their mistake, the gnomes ask forgiveness and promise to respect the magic of winter. Little Star gives her radiance to the snow and helps bring back the wonder of winter. Joy and a white Christmas return to the village.
