The solo performance based on Suzie Miller’s play “Prima Facie” explores the impact of court decisions and how women are regarded as witnesses in court after a humiliating, life-changing and brutal experience. Tessa is an exceptional barrister who has built her career in criminal defence through sheer determination. She is guided by a belief in the individual’s right to a fair trial, and above all, Tessa loves the thrill of getting her clients acquitted. Everything seems to be going well for Tessa; she is even approached about a prestigious new job. But when a date with a charismatic colleague goes wrong, Tessa discovers that the rules she has always played by may not protect her, leading her to question everything she has ever believed in.
