Once a month, visitors are invited to explore the exhibition dedicated to the legendary singer-songwriter Austra Pumpure, “Viss vienalga, mierā neliks...” (“It Doesn’t Matter, It Won’t Let Me Be at Peace...”), accompanied by guide and exhibition curator Inese Muižniece. During the tour, we’ll look at Austra Pumpure’s childhood in Rucava, the orchestra pit at Liepāja Theatre and the vibrant era of musicals, Austra’s first concerts and a time when people understood the first, second and third layers of subtext, sold-out concert tours, and the emergence of the singer-songwriter movement—sketching where we come from, what we bring with us, and where we are going. The exhibition is based mainly on archival photographs, as well as furniture, paintings, books and a few personal belongings from Austra Pumpure’s apartment. The decorative puzuri shelves were made by sculptor Ģirts Burvis. When visiting the exhibition independently, you can listen to stories from Austra and the Austrasbērni using the audio devices in the room.
