60-Minute Boat Ride on the Daugava River Bends aboard “Dinaburga”

Discover the Daugava River Bends on a boat ride aboard “Dinaburga”! The Daugava is the main artery of Daugavpils Municipality, flowing in picturesque curves. From the riverbanks, expansive views open onto a unique valley, with a castle built on its banks in the past and local cultural heritage sites surrounding them. A boat ride is a wonderful opportunity to discover the cultural heritage and see for yourself the most scenic stretch of the Daugava, rich in sights.

During the ride, you will see:
• Slutišķi Cliff, the largest exposure of Quaternary rock in the Latvian part of the Daugava Valley;
• “Daugava Gates,” the narrowest part of the ancient Daugava Valley between Slutišķi and Ververi cliffs, one of the most notable sites on the “Latvia’s Green Pearls” list;
• Ververi Cliff, a 42-metre-high Quaternary rock cliff offering unforgettable views of the “Daugava Gates”;
• Markova Hillfort, one of the smallest Latgalian hillforts;
• Slutišķi Old Believer village, where time has stood still for more than 100 years. It is the only museum site in Latvia where you can learn about Old Believer culture and everyday life in the first half of the 20th century;
• The magnificent natural scenery preserved when construction of the Daugavpils Hydroelectric Power Station was halted, saving this unique natural area and becoming one of the symbols of Latvia’s National Awakening.

The ride ends at the “Daugavas lokos” campsite. The ride lasts 60 minutes. See you aboard!
