BROADWAY – Broadway Musical Hits | 19.12.26 (19:00)

“Mamma Mia!”, “Chicago”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Cats”, “West Side Story”, “The Phantom of the Opera”... Music from legendary musicals that have been performed on Broadway and West End stages for decades and have long been part of world music culture. The BROADWAY programme features famous arias and songs from musicals of different eras—from genre classics to pieces known far beyond the musical theatre stage. The vocal parts will be performed by soloists of the Latvian National Opera. Their voices will meet an unusual instrumental lineup for Broadway music: organ, violin, cello and percussion. This combination of instruments will let audiences hear familiar pieces anew, from intimate musical moments to powerful ensemble climaxes. *The musicians are located in the nave, near the altar. **Concert duration: approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
