Bolero | 16.12.26 (19.00)

In winter, we especially long for warmth. That’s why we’re inviting you once again to the concert program “Bolero”—an evening inspired by Spain’s temperament and musical energy, from Bizet’s “Carmen” to Ravel’s “Bolero.” “Bolero” is an evening in which the music will literally breathe rhythm. The “Habanera” from Bizet’s opera “Carmen,” Ravel’s “Bolero,” Pascual Marquina’s pasodoble “España Cañí,” and the explosive Danzón No. 2—melodies recognizable from the very first notes that reveal something new each time. Music that seems to dance, lead, and transform before the listener. The sound of the organ, strings, and percussion will create the effect of a full orchestra while retaining the intimate atmosphere of chamber music, where every detail can be heard. And, of course, the special atmosphere—the neo-Gothic vaults of St. Paul’s Church, candles, and visual elements—will create everything that makes the concert an event. Concert duration: approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. *The musicians will be in the main floor area, by the altar.
