No previous experience is needed! This time, we’ll make small gifts from electronic waste. Take part in a workshop by social enterprise IDEAL MISTAKES HUB, where you can take apart worn-out household electrical appliances, learn how they work with RTU students, and give electrical components a second life!
Workshop topic: to be confirmed closer to the event.
PLAN
- Learn about workshop safety before we get started with the electrical appliances.
- Take apart several broken devices together (tools will be provided!).
- RTU student Linards Reinis Rozītis will explain what is inside the devices and the basic principles of how they work.
- Use creative thinking and brainstorm ways to give worn-out equipment a second life, together with the workshop’s creativity facilitator, Kristīna Virse.
The workshop content will vary depending on which electrical appliances are available to us.
We especially welcome fathers, older brothers (18+), uncles, and all other knowledgeable adults (women too!). Recommended age for young participants: 9–18.
What to bring: comfortable work clothes.
Admission: 1 young person + 1 adult = 35 EUR (+10 EUR for each additional young person or adult).
Places are limited to 18 people!
Safety glasses and work gloves are provided.
