The Book of Answers: A Tragicomedy About the Alchemy of Friendship

THE BOOK OF ANSWERS
A tragicomedy

Renowned Australian playwright Ron Elisha, a major figure in contemporary English-language theatre, has written a moving play about the alchemy of friendship. The heroines of The Book of Answers are two women from different worlds: Blanche, a mathematics professor who accepts only rational arguments, and Melanie, a cheerful massage therapist who trusts emotions and intuition more than logic. Their chance meeting becomes a refuge from loneliness and betrayal. Their very different lives do not stop Blanche and Melanie from supporting each other through moments of collapse and triumph.

The Book of Answers, a play about the power of human connection, offers a clear answer to the question: is it possible to find friendship beyond our usual circles? This story will resonate with anyone who has ever tried to piece themselves back together.

The world stage premiere of The Book of Answers took place in Latvia in autumn 2025.
