The illusionists Pecolli present: “13” – Trīspadsmit, a mystical experience show. As the autumn season of spirits draws near, Mystero Illusion Theatre presents a show for its audience on 30 and 31 October and 1 November in a format never experienced before: each performance is limited to just 13 spectators. The show takes place in the Mystery Room on the second floor of Mystero Theatre.

The show combines magic tricks, storytelling and theatrical elements. Its research material is based on true events—at least as far as we believe them to be…
The show is interactive: spectators will take on the roles of witches and inquisitors, take part in the clairvoyant Hanussen’s final séance, visit an American orphanage surrounded by mystical legends, learn the secrets of the eccentric Blavatsky, and witness the power of their own minds… and much more.
The aim of the show is not to frighten, but quite the opposite: to explain some popular superstitions and symbols associated with fear, so we can understand their origins and effects. Despite the seemingly serious themes, the atmosphere is light and humorous. The mystical and unknown have always fascinated people because they are interesting.
Illusionists Dace and Enrico Pecolli/Pezzoli have travelled to many countries around the world, deliberately seeking out and learning about the mystical stories of their peoples, using original sources wherever possible. This interest has led them to acquire many historical objects and artefacts connected with religious, cultural-historical and mystical traditions. Many of these can be seen on museum tours led by the Mystero Illusion Theatre/Museum. More information: www.mystero.lv
Why “13”? For example, the Tarot card “Death” is numbered 13; in Christianity, 13 is considered unlucky in connection with the Last Supper; and the term “triskaidekaphobia” comes from Greek and describes the superstitious, pathological anxiety some people feel about the number 13. In fact, the number 13 has always been associated with transformation, rebirth and change, and can be interpreted in either a positive or negative sense. How will we interpret it? As a beautiful new beginning, free from fear.
