Have you noticed the graffiti-covered tower standing on the slope of Toomemägi? Or wondered what the radio mast in the corner of the observatory garden is for? On Curiosity Day, we invite you to discover some lesser-known stories about the area around Tartu Observatory. We’ll explore how stars were once captured in photographs, who Hugo Raudsaar—known as Täheonu—was, and what role the observatory played in the Republic of Estonia’s time service. Come and explore something entirely new in a familiar place! The tour is led by museum curator and historian Lea Leppik. Ticket: €8. Free for Museum Card holders and children aged up to 8. Museum Card holders are asked to reserve a free ticket in advance. More information: muuseum.ut.ee
