Saturday, 31 October, at 16:00 at the Romantilise Rannatee Küün, Maria talu. A concert dedicated to the birth anniversary of Bishop Platon.
Programme: All Souls’ Day music
All Souls’ Day is a holiday that brings together European Christian and national traditions from many peoples. Candles are lit in memory of loved ones who have passed away. By commemorating the birth anniversary of Platon, who was born in Kõpu village, on All Souls’ Day, we wish to honour the bishop’s life’s work, which enabled us Estonians to live free—and, above all, spiritually free.
Beautiful and familiar works by Bach and Mozart, as well as deeply moving works by Estonian composers, many of which have not reached us before, offer peace of mind and an opportunity to reflect on the values that helped Bishop Platon carry out his life’s work, and whose importance has not diminished today.
For the first time in the Musica Hymnis series, music for French horn will be performed by leading Finnish artist Professor Kalervo Kulmala. With its intimate acoustics, the Romantilise Rannatee Küün offers something to discover for every music lover!
