Forest. Language. Home. Mushrooms. Estonian. And all the invisible things that fit between them. The guest at the Viscosa literary meeting is Valdur Mikita — a writer, semiotician and wanderer of thought whose writing can travel in a single sentence from a chanterelle to outer space, then back home along a forest path. “Lingvistiline mets”, “Kukeseene kuulamise kunst” and “Mõtterändur” — in Mikita’s writing, nature, language, culture, memory and the Estonian’s slightly unusual way of being in the world come together. It may be best not to decide too firmly in advance what exactly we’ll talk about. With Valdur Mikita, the path may begin in the forest and end somewhere no trail on the map led to. The conversation will be hosted by Tiina Maiberg, organiser of the Hiiumaa Literature Festival. Come listen and wander through ideas. Viscosa Kultuuritehas, Kõrgessaare. Ticket: €5. Viscosa literary meetings are supported by Eesti Kultuurkapital.
