The Woolly Tale is a puppet show inspired by a poem by Ovsei Driz, dedicated to Ya. Shternberg and translated from Hebrew by Sapgir. Directed by Irina Maryapuu (Artsimovichene), the production is also known as The Woolly Tale or The Ball of Wool.

A cheerful, musical and instructive fairy tale for children aged 4 and up, primary school pupils and adults. It explores the importance of appreciating kindness and love, especially when they are given to us undeservedly, and asks what happens to a person when they are given everything. The story is about a lazy old woman and a cheerful, kind little lamb.

The show lasts 40–45 minutes.

A ball of wool, a woollen scarf, a woolly story, a woolly poem… A soft and cheerful look at the world, from a warm, comfortable armchair, in woollen socks and a woollen sweater! Isn’t it a sweet dream to be together with friends like that when it’s cold outside?

The Fonarik Puppet Theatre from Tallinn presents The Woolly Tale, where we meet woolly characters and share their worries and joys. The production is intended for kindergarten and primary school children. It is performed in both Estonian and Russian.

Based on a poem by Ovsei Driz, the story is about a kind little lamb who wants to help a grumpy old woman. Its central message is the importance of noticing what we have been given, appreciating those who want to help us, and being grateful. Join us as we dive into a fantastical woolly world. We promise an interesting journey.
