KINOTEATRI performance: “We know what we need to do, but we don’t know how we’ll get re-elected afterwards”

What can be agreed on with a hall full of people? Kinoteatri’s new production tries to set party-political preferences aside and take a fresh look, ahead of the elections, at what is good and what is bad in Estonia. Or can we even agree on what is good and what is bad? By sifting through experts’ ideas in different fields and adding our own—and yours—on the spot, we’ll try to put together our ideal programme. No matter how big or small. With every audience, every time anew. One of a kind, democratic and playful. What changes do you think are essential right now? Will they even make it onto the agenda, or are they too “unsexy” to talk about before the elections? And what would you be willing to give up for them if you weren’t afraid of not being re-elected? We’ll use smartphones for voting and actors for onstage campaigning: Henrik Kalmet, Mari-Liis Lill, Riina Maidre, Laurits Muru (Tallinna Linnateater) or Robin Täpp (Teater Nuutrum). And a string quartet: M4GNET. The production is put together by Paavo Piik, Henrik Kalmet, Mari-Liis Lill, Teele Pärn (Eesti Draamateater), Kaur Saarepuu, Linda Mai Kari, Priidu Adlas and Rasmus Puur. Co-producers: Kanuti Gildi SAAL and Tartu Uus Teater. Supported by: Eesti Kultuuriministeerium and Eesti Kultuurkapital. Communications and marketing: Liine Jänes.
