Bach – Music from the Cosmos | 11 Dec 2026

Bach – Music from the Cosmos. For the first time in Tallinn – 10 December 2026. Additional concert on 11 December.

On 10 December, OKONCERT brings the concert “BACH – Music from the Cosmos” to Tallinn for the first time, featuring some of Johann Sebastian Bach’s best-known and most beloved works.

At the organ is Ilona Birgele, artistic director of the historic organ festival “Land of Organs,” chief organist at Riga’s St. James Cathedral, and a laureate of numerous international competitions and festivals. She performs regularly at Riga Cathedral and gives concerts across Europe and around the world, including in Germany, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands and Israel.

Joining her are Irina Vylegzhanina (cello) and Virdzinija Laube (percussion).

The concert takes place beneath the vaults of Kaarli Church, home to Estonia’s largest church organ, built by the Walcker company.

Please note: all the musicians will be seated in the balcony next to the organ. Given the church’s large-scale acoustics, they need visual contact and close proximity to one another to ensure the most unified performance possible.

Join us to enjoy masterpieces of timeless classical music in a unique atmosphere of light and sound, where the musicians’ virtuosity is complemented by visual and lighting effects.

Concert duration: approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. The musicians will be seated in the balcony by the organ.
