The theme of eras connects music with the visual arts, architecture and literature—in fact, with all the fine arts. Epochs do not emerge overnight or without reason; rather, they reflect changes in society. This time, our focus is on the intense period between the Renaissance and the Baroque, a time rich in new ideas and exploration.

Italy is the cultural cradle of this period, influencing music throughout Europe. To better appreciate the richness of Italian culture, which is difficult to take in all at once, we have chosen music associated with just one city: Venice. Venice is a place that already holds a special place in all our hearts, and during this concert it will become even more beloved.

Castello, Rossi, Riccio, Fontana, Bononcini and others are names you may have heard before, but they will likely stay with you now. They are like valuable companions who ask nothing of us, yet offer support when we need it most.

The early music studio Cantores Vagantes has been active since 1989. The ensemble brings together musicians who wish to perform early music. They play on copies of original instruments, respecting historical performance practice. The studio’s membership is not fixed; it can be thought of as a community of professionals, with the number of players depending on the requirements of the music.
