As part of Curiosity Day, you can do something special: visit the collections of the Estonian History Museum! On 14 November at 12:00, there will be a rare opportunity to visit the Museum’s storage facilities and get a behind-the-scenes look. We will introduce our glass and ceramics collection, furniture collection, and archaeology collection. We will talk about what and why the Museum collects, how objects are preserved, and what methods are used to store them for the long term. These are three very different collections, where you can see the storage of large objects, a boxed collection, and objects kept on open shelves. You will certainly hear fascinating stories about one object or another. The collections will be introduced by Chief Curator Mari Luukas and researchers Anne Ruussaar (applied arts and foreign ethnology) and Ulla Kadakas (archaeology).
Location: Meet at the ticket office of Maarjamäe Castle, Pirita tee 56. Places are limited.
