“Cold Soup” is a family story in two acts, bringing everyone together at the family’s ancestral farm to celebrate Midsummer’s Day. Everyday bustle, jokes and jabs alternate with moments when things left unsaid finally begin to be heard. The play explores family relationships in recognisable language—the way people really speak and feel. It is a story about how being together can be both comforting and painful. If you laugh, that’s allowed. If you feel uncomfortable, that’s completely normal. Life doesn’t ask whether we’re hungry—sometimes cold soup is simply what’s served.
