A 45-year-old man, a parent, an ex-spouse, an addict, a member of the Estonian Defence League, bad with money, a technophobe... When Märt performed his first stand-up show, “40”, at the age of 40, he toured it successfully across Estonia (and briefly abroad) with its honest, personal material. He thought he might try again at 50. But here we are: Märt Avandi’s stand-up “45” is a reality. It’s actually surprising how much can happen in five years. Even if you think you’re experienced, have seen it all, and would like to think of yourself as a sensible person. You might have thought that everything inside you and around you would get calmer and calmer. It doesn’t. Fortunately, the desire to look at life with humour hasn’t gone anywhere. Nor has the desire to analyse your flaws, worries and mistakes with complete honesty. Because if anything is worth laughing at, it’s yourself. On stage: Märt Avandi. Written by: Märt Avandi, Paul Piik. Märt’s new stand-up show “45” premieres on 15 October at Fotografiska and aims to reach all the larger cities and county centres before its main character turns 46.
