Hymn

This is a hymn for young people searching within themselves, not knowing whether they will find what they are looking for. Who is “young” today, and who has been “young” — what do we still have left to live, and what will remain unlived? The production wants to capture the feeling of being young. It wants to BE young. What do we dream of living, and what have we simply given up on? Every generation that eventually takes on the role of those who govern us has its own face. But what choices and possibilities have been left for “those who come next”? In our youth, a flame burns brightly: it may explosively open up the world in a breakthrough, or die out like a spark that never catches air. Listen! If stars are being lit, then someone must need them; if stars are being lit, then someone must need them — that means it is vitally necessary that at least one star should light up above our rooftops every evening?! — Mayakovsky
