Fairy tales come to life! In the shining halls of this historic palace, children can experience the joyful, uplifting atmosphere of winter balls of times past. At the Kadriorg Palace Winter Ball, children can dress up as princes and princesses and enjoy an immersive, playful tour, a short dance lesson, and a ball in the palace’s grand ceremonial hall, accompanied by live music. A beautiful Christmas tree adds a touch of fairy-tale magic and holiday spirit. In the palace vestibule, young guests and their accompanying adults are welcomed by palace ladies or chamberlains, who introduce them to etiquette and ball traditions before leading them on an intriguing tour of the palace rooms, where more than one work of art has come to life. Hints and riddles from characters who have stepped out of the paintings lead to a surprise! During the dance lesson, children and parents will learn a proper bow and the basic steps of three historical dances: the polonaise, cotillion, and gallop. Then the ball begins, with dancing to music created especially for the Kadriorg children’s ball! The ball is led by Goltsman Ballet artist Vlada Schotter. Guests are invited to wear formal or historically inspired clothing.
